Happy Wesak Day

I'm the sort of person who just loves a good holiday. I'm big on celebrating festivals and coming from a family with such diverse backgrounds, we practically celebrate everything.

Today is Wesak Day and my immediate family will be heading over to a relative's place in a short while. I'm excited to see everyone and I'm really excited because I know that there will be tons of good food, but at the same time my heart feels heavy, knowing that so many people out there are suffering because of the lack of food - especially with the current tragedies that are happening in China and Myanmar.

Below are the links of a few organizations that benefits the hungry people of the world. You can contribute by playing a game, clicking to feed, donating, signing a petition, purchasing items on the website and etc. I want Tammy, Marlene, Jean, Nick, Mariuca, Monica, Faisal, Ratu Syura and Nessa to join me in spreading the word about these wonderful sites by linking to them and persuading your readers to help the hungry in one way or another. It doesn't have to cause a single dime. Please tag at least five other bloggers and please add on to the list if you know of any other organization that focuses on this issue.

Buddha once said, "Good men and bad men differ radically. Bad men never appreciate kindness shown to them, but wise men appreciate and are grateful. Wise men try to express their appreciation and gratitude by some return of kindness, not only to their benefactor, but to everyone else."

Let us all show some gratitude and spread the love on this special occasion. Happy Wesak Day everybody.
